Please note, CREA sent an email last Friday regarding the Prohibition on the Purchase of Residential Property by Non-Canadians Act coming into force on Jan. 1, 2023.

On Jan. 1, 2023, the Prohibition on the Purchase of Residential Property by Non-Canadians (Foreign Buyers Ban) comes into effect. This is a temporary ban of two years that prevents non-Canadians from purchasing residential property.

CREA’s REALTOR® Cooperation Policy that was slated to take effect on Jan. 1, 2023, is no longer valid. A more extensive process with increased member feedback has been initiated across Canadian real estate boards and associations regarding this policy.

On Oct. 14, the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) sent an email to members announcing its intention to adopt a new REALTOR® Cooperation Policy.

Last week, the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) announced that effective Jan. 1, 2023, a new REALTOR® Cooperation Policy will come into effect that defines the timing of posting Coming Soon Listings to the MLS® System.
