According to the latest numbers from the federal government, 1.7 million people are in housing need across Canada, living in homes that are inadequate or unaffordable. Another 25,000 Canadians are chronically homeless.

Applications are now open for CREB® REALTOR® Community Foundation’s Legacy, Community and Transformation Grants to support local housing- and shelter-related initiatives.

To reach their full potential, children and families require a healthy, safe, secure and nurturing environment.

Since its inception in 2003, the Calgary Dream Centre has been helping people recover and rebuild their lives after struggles with addiction and homelessness.

For over 40 years, Sonshine Community Services has been providing a variety of supports – including housing, counselling and childcare – to women and children who are fleeing family violence in the Calgary area.

Created in 1995 through the merger of three seniors-serving organizations, Calgary Seniors’ Resource Society offers a variety of volunteer and social work programs to create “a future where no senior is alone and struggling.”

Since their first houses were constructed in Alberta in 1985, Ronald McDonald House Charities® Alberta has welcomed tens of thousands of families seeking vital medical treatment for their seriously ill or injured children.

The Calgary Drop-In Centre (DI) has been a refuge and valuable resource for those experiencing or at risk of homelessness for more than 60 years.
