Unmatched knowledge of the housing market is key to the REALTOR® value proposition. That’s why CREB® has worked hard to launch Understanding Housing Statistics on CREB®Link.
“Housing is really important to everybody,” says Ann-Marie Lurie, CREB®’s chief economist. “It’s (your clients’) largest investment and this is why people care so much.”
“Everyone also has an opinion on the market. Every single client you deal with has an opinion on what their house is worth, what the market is doing.”
CREB®’s housing statistics can help members set expectations with their clients and reinforce a client's Market Value Assessment.
Statistics can help you support and answer many customers’ most frequently asked questions, including:
- What is the market doing?
- How much is my house worth?
- When is it a good time to sell?
- Where is the best place to buy?
The new site is built off Lurie’s MaxStats course, a two-hour session designed to help REALTORS® understand both the breadth of statistical tools available and provide them with real-world examples and scenarios that demonstrate how key statistics can help you help your clients more effectively.
Broken out into the most commonly requested areas, the site features detailed breakdowns on key housing statistics, the MLS® Housing Price Index, housing data and reports and a series of scenarios that explain how to use these tools.
If you’re more of a visual learner, Lurie’s MaxStats course has also been edited into shorter videos that correspond with each major theme as well.
To check out the site, watch the videos or learn more, visit the Market Data section on CREB®Link.
