AREA government relations committee

Do you have an affinity for politics and like giving back to the REALTOR® community? If so, then the Alberta Real Estate Association (AREA) has an opportunity for you.

The association seeks a CREB® member to begin a two-year term on its Provincial Government Relations Committee (PGRC).

Participants will support AREA’s advocacy efforts and develop policy initiatives, all while connecting with MLAs, departmental staff and other key stakeholders. These efforts go towards the improvement of political capital in Alberta’s organized real estate and the overall business environment for REALTORS® and the clients they serve.

The term begins in early 2017 and requires members to attend meetings on a quarterly basis, typically in Edmonton or Calgary, with some additional obligations as necessary. As the committee includes REALTOR® representation from across Alberta, travel costs for committee business are covered by AREA.

Interviews will begin after the application deadline. No previous experience necessary and all interested REALTORS® are encouraged to apply.
