Lockbox firmware solution

By CREB®

We now have a firmware solution that will significantly reduce lockbox issues, improve performance and provide members with the kind of lockbox experience they’ve come to expect.

There’s no question this has been a frustrating situation for many members (and also clients), which is why we’ve worked diligently with SentriLock’s team to come up with an efficient and manageable solution.

As we’ve communicated in previous messages on this topic, extensive research and testing was conducted by SentriLockto uncover the root cause of the issue. This analysis was necessary to identify firmware as the issue and ultimately find a definitive solution that we feel comfortable rolling out to our membership.

Now all that’s needed is to apply the update to your inventory of lockboxes. There are two ways to do this:

SentriLock upgrade event – April 5 to 13

  • In an effort to reduce disruption to your business, SentriLock is deploying a support team to assist CREB® members with completing the firmware update;
  • Members will be able to attend an appointment at one of several locations throughout the city (to be determined) between April 5 and 13;
  • This method is best suited for members who have a large lockbox inventory, or do not use the SentriSmart™ app;
  • To ease the process further, a representative such as an assistant, can attend the appointment on your behalf; and
  • SentriLock will issue a registration email to all members who own lockboxes on March 27.

Manual/automatic update – available now

  • Lockbox owners are able to update their inventory manually following a simple process on the SentriSmart™ app, or by letting the lockboxes update automatically over time through normal use;
  • Due to the time commitment of collecting lockboxes and attending an update appointment, manual updates are recommended for members who own five lockboxes or less; and
  • While manually updating your lockboxes is not mandatory, it significantly reduces the risk of business disruption and client dissatisfaction.

If you have any questions about the upgrade or the events, please contact our Paula Knetsch at keymanagement@creb.ca or 403-781-1306.
