The count is in: 867 members casted 1,690 votes to determine who will lead on CREB®’s 2019 board of directors.
The 10 board directors represent a mix of eight different brokerages. In addition to brokerage diversity, next year’s board will be comprised of a record-setting seven female directors. With six female directors serving in 1997, 1998, and again in 2011, this is a natural evolution for CREB®.
"It’s great to see a diverse group of leaders on the board for 2019,” said CREB® president Tom Westcott. "This is a promising team of directors, who represent a range of small to large brokerages."
The elected directors for 2019 are:
- Ms. Susanita de Diego;
- Ms. Cathie Queen; and
- Ms. Karen Salmon, who has been re-elected.
These leaders will join the following directors whose terms carry over into 2019:
- Ms. Sarah Johnston, president;
- Mr. Tom Westcott, immediate past-president;
- Ms. Joanna Barstad;
- Ms. Lorna Hamm;
- Mr. Ian Jones;
- Mr. Doug Koop; and
- Ms. Wendy Morrow.
“I’m confident that this mix of directors will bring their A-game to the table, championing member interests in the ever-changing real estate landscape,” CREB® president-elect Sarah Johnston said.
Congratulations to the new leadership. The 2019 board will be officially sworn-in at the board of directors meeting on Jan. 16.
