Pillar 9™ Tech Tips

By CREB®
In the lead up to CREB®’s migration to Pillar 9™, we’re reaching out to provide a head start for our members, so that everyone is ready to transition to the new MLS® System.

Check out the tech tips below to learn more about the Pillar 9™ Matrix™ system.

Tech Tip 16: Listing REALTOR® 3

They say that two’s company and three’s a crowd.

The new Pillar 9™ platform is not vastly different from the one we use now, but some aspects are different. Listing REALTOR® 3 is one of the items that will not convert into the new system, and so we’re providing members with the rationale below:

  • CREB® was the only Alberta board that previously had this option in their MLS® System.
  • Matrix™, Realtor.ca, WEBForms® and Prospects CRM do not properly support this option.
  • The RESO Gold Standards Pillar 9™ is aligned to does not support it.
  • The usage of Listing REALTOR® 3 for CREB® is very low.

Tech Tip 17: Editing abilities for co-listing agents

Teamwork makes the dream work, which is especially true for listing and co-listing agents.

In this tech tip, we’re letting members know that in the Pillar 9™ MLS® System, a co-listing agent is now able to edit a listing in addition to the listing agent.

Please note that regardless of who makes edits to a listing, the listing agent will be held accountable for compliance requirements in the MLS® System.

Tech Tip 18: CDOM

In the world of real estate, time is of the essence.

The new Pillar 9™ platform is not vastly different from the one we use now, but some aspects will change, including CDOM.

In the Pillar 9™ MLS® System, CDOM is set to reset after 15 days rather than the 30 days in CREB®’s current system. Here’s the rationale:

  1. Focus groups were led with members, and many expressed that the 30 days in the current CREB® system was too long for a CDOM calculation.
  2. Other Alberta boards had lower CDOM calculations, such as 10 days, making the 15-day calculation a “meet in the middle” for members.

Benefits of the 15-day CDOM

Now, you’ll be able to re-list a property in less time. For example, terminated listings can be re-listed after 15 days and appear as new in the MLS® System. Now, members have a shorter time period that they have to wait before re-listing a property.

Please note, when CREB® migrates to the Pillar 9™ system, terminated listings that are already past the 15 days can be re-listed immediately.

Tech Tip 19: Creating and searching for open houses

Having your open houses available on the MLS® System is important to increase your reach of potential buyers in the housing market.

In this tech tip, our focus is on creating and searching for open houses in Matrix™. Please click here to explore this topic in Pillar 9™'s quick reference guide.
