Provincial Administrative Justice Program

By CREB®

On May 21, AREA announced the launch of the Provincial Administrative Justice Program. CREB® has played a leading role in this initiative through its wholly owned for-profit subsidiary, REB Resources Ltd.

Program benefits for Alberta

This program announcement is the result of many years of complex work, where CREB® encouraged Alberta’s real estate industry to move towards a consistent set of enforcement rules across the province.

The Provincial Administrative Justice Program will eliminate barriers for smaller boards, who typically did not have the resources to staff or manage this body of work.

How it works

AREA will be providing this provincial program through the contracted services of CREB®’s member practice team through REB Resources Ltd. This means all Alberta boards will have access to the same high-quality compliance and administrative justice services we have at CREB®.

There will be no change to CREB® members’ experience from a compliance or practice perspective. Members can continue to contact CREB®’s member practice team, who will be responsible for day-to-day program operations, including investigations, hearings, and arbitrations.

More information

For more information about REB Resources Ltd., view pages six and 11 of CREB®’s 2019 annual report.

Further information about the Provincial Administrative Justice Program will be posted on AREA's website in the coming weeks.
