Our next steps to replace ShowingTime™

By CREB®

Since we last updated you on the unexpected acquisition of ShowingTime™ by Zillow, several important steps have been taken to define our way forward more clearly.

Pillar 9™ is taking point with CREB® continuing to play an active role in advocating for a solution that aligns with CREB®’s mission, creates the most seamless transition for members, and provides the best data security features and overall value.

Pillar 9™ currently provides a showing service solution to the Central Alberta REALTORS® Association (CARA) and the Lethbridge and District Association of REALTORS® (LDAR). These two boards will also be partners in the solution assessment and will help determine the way forward.

Together, we have spent the last few weeks finalizing our approach and initiating work.

What has been done?

  • Pillar 9™ has formed a cross-board task force to aid in service selection. The task force will help to define must-have showing service functionality and review potential solutions with the objective of creating a short list of solution providers.
  • CREB® representatives Dan Stante (volunteer leader), Shaun Sinden (Manager, IT Services), and Lisa Roberts (COO) will continue to provide overall support.
  • The showing service task force had their first meeting last week. Landscape assessment has begun, and the field has been narrowed down to five potential solutions.

What will be done?

  • Continue solution assessment and determine which solutions will move forward to member demonstration.
  • Convene a member group from the participating boards to participate in a demonstration of potential solutions (75 to 100 members across three boards). Part of this work will include ranking those solutions to identify the ideal solution provider.
  • Set up a member group from the participating boards to beta test the solution as part of migration activities.

Our timeline, as well as training and launch dates, will be part of the negotiation with the selected solution provider. As a result, a specific timeline for this work has not been established. The goal is to identify the ideal solution by the end of May.

We will provide you with updates as this work moves forward and when new information is available.

In the meantime, if you have any questions about our decision to pursue a new service provider, please contact CREB® President & CEO Alan Tennant at Alan.Tennant@creb.ca.
