Become a Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) and gain the knowledge and tools you need to access opportunities in the global real estate market.
The National Association of REALTORS® developed the CIPS designation to provide the necessary education, resources and network REALTORS® need to take advantage of these new business opportunities. The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) is pleased to offer the designation courses here in Canada.
There are five course requirements to receive the CIPS designation. CREA is offering all five courses virtually in September and October, so join your fellow Canadian REALTORS® and learn about the critical aspects of international real estate transactions
The course schedule is as follows:
- Global Real Estate: Local Markets
Dates: Sept. 8 and 9
Time: 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. MT
This introductory course offers an overview of the international real estate business environment, including capital flow, currencies, government regulations and cultures. Topics such as international brokerage, networking, marketing and selling will also be discussed. - The Business of U.S. Real Estate
Dates: Sept. 15 and 16
Time: 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. MT
The course will describe the role of real estate in the U.S. economy and society, as well as knowledge of the U.S. real estate marketplace. Information on the requirements, regulations and laws associated with working as a real estate professional in the U.S. and skills for facilitating real estate transactions in the U.S. market will be provided in course materials. - The Americas and International Real Estate
Dates: Sept. 22 and 23
Time: 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. MT
This course offers practical information on working with Caribbean, North, Central, and South American investors. Historical and cultural influences, regional relationships, and investment opportunities are covered, including a special focus on Mexico. - Europe and International Real Estate
Dates: Sept. 27
Time: 7 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. MT
This course provides insight in regards to working with clients in Western and Central Europe. Topics include the European Union and its impact on international real estate, economic and real estate trends, networking and relationship building, and marketing and selling practices. - Asia/Pacific and International Real Estate
Dates: Oct. 5 and 6
Time: 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. MT
This course addresses real estate practices in Asia and the Pacific with emphasis on cultural influences, economic trends and assessment of investment opportunities. An extra chapter on working within the Japanese real estate market is also included.
Each course costs $120 plus tax, but discounts are available if multiple courses are taken.
