As we continue to navigate the COVID-19 landscape, it is still important for members to recognize the necessity of keeping their clients, themselves and the properties they show safe.

This is not only in consideration of the current pandemic requirements, but also aligns with our standards of professionalism as REALTORS^®.

CREB^® Member Practice has been made aware of incidents where members have ignored client instructions and COVID-19 protocol, which has impacted the safety of people and spaces.

As professionals, we are bound by the REALTOR^® Code of Ethics, which requires REALTORS^® to avoid controversies, not act in a way that is unbecoming to the industry, and adhere to the bylaws, rules and regulations of CREB^®, AREA and RECA at all times. 

As a reminder, while you continue to show homes, please keep the following in mind:

• Read and follow showing instructions & signage related to COVID-19 protocols when viewing the property.
• Advise your clients on what to expect, so they are prepared when entering a property (e.g., mask requirements, no touch requests, etc.).
• If clients or showing agents are unable to adhere to the safety protocols, consult with the listing agent before the showing.
• Ensure disclosure documents, if required, are recent and up-to-date.
