March 9 Update

By CREB®

Alberta’s completed move to Step 2 of its path forward, information on vaccinations and an update on CREB®’s re-entry planning are all included in this week’s update.

Alberta fully moves into Step 2 of Path Forward

Yesterday (March 8), the province announced Step 2 of Alberta’s Path Forward is now complete. Effective immediately, there are updated health measures for retail, hotels, community halls, performance groups, youth sports and recreation.

As a reminder, indoor masking and distancing requirements will remain in place throughout this stepped approach, and some degree of restrictions will still apply to all activities within each step.

The full move to Step 2 does not affect CREB®’s alignment to restrictions for professional services.

Additional details on the current restrictions are outlined at alberta.ca.

CREB®’s re-entry planning

As the province continues through its four-step path forward, CREB® is closely assessing updates and actively developing a safe and orderly re-entry plan.

Through this planning process, the well-being and safety of our staff and members remains our top priority.

In the meantime, a limited number of staff will be working from the office building and access to the Member Services Centre will continue by appointment only. To learn more or book an appointment, please call 403-781-5454.

We miss you and look forward to seeing you again safely in-person soon!

Vaccination update

Alberta is currently rolling out a phased approach to vaccinations. We are currently in Phase 1, with the Government of Alberta rolling out Phase 2 shortly.

Phase 1
Albertans born in 1946 or earlier are now eligible to book an appointment to receive a COVID-19 vaccination.

Phase 2 (AstraZeneca)
Starting March 10, Albertans born in 1957, as well as First Nation, Métis or Inuit individuals born in 1972, can book an appointment for the AstraZeneca vaccine if they have no severe chronic illness.

Albertans born between 1958 and 1971, as well as First Nation, Métis or Inuit individuals born between 1973 and 1986, will be eligible to book by year of birth, one year at a time, over the coming days dependent on AstraZeneca vaccine supply.

Phase 2 (Group A)
On March 15, staff and residents of licensed supportive living communities (seniors) not included in Phase 1; First Nations, Métis and Inuit people aged 50 and older, no matter where they live; and Albertans aged 65 to 74, no matter where they live, will then be able to book an appointment for a vaccine.

Open houses and showings

AREA has confirmed that there are no changes to open house rules at this time.

The temporary ban on open houses remains in place and showings must continue to be conducted by appointment only and limited to two family-unit members at a time.

Any future decisions to ease these restrictions will align with changes to the government guidelines and AREA will communicate these changes to members as soon as possible.
