Are you following DNCL rules?

By CREB®

REALTORS® often include telemarketing calls as part of their outreach to consumers, so it's important to refresh your understanding of Canada’s National Do Not Call List (DNCL) rules to stay compliant with national regulations.

The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) introduced new responsibilities for Canada’s telemarketers through the creation and maintenance of the National DNCL. This list filters out consumers who do not want to receive unsolicited calls, which can help REALTORS® utilizing telemarketing tools ensure the households they contact are more likely to be receptive.

Members who are using lead-generating services as part of their marketing strategy are encouraged to review the CRTC’s Unsolicited Telecommunication Rules. If it is discovered that the rules and policies have been violated, sanctions (such as fines) can be imposed.
