Stay safe

By CREB®

Working in real estate requires meeting new clients, so it’s important to make safety a part of your everyday practice to protect yourself and your business.

Verify your new client

Trust your gut instincts and remember to be cautious when dealing with the public – especially when it’s someone you don’t know.

If a new client connects with you online, make sure to ask for a form of identification so you can confirm that they are who they claim to be. A serious client will not hesitate to share this information.

Be cautious about meetups

If an individual wants to meet virtually, you should initiate the invitation and advise attendees that the meeting will be recorded. If meeting in person, verify their identity, meet in a public place and, when possible, bring a buddy.

Become familiar with these safety resources

If you do find yourself in an unsafe situation, immediately contact the proper authorities based on the severity of the circumstance.
