Empower Me focuses on helping newcomers to Canada by delivering free programming and education to save energy, save money, save the environment and increase the comfort and safety of their homes.

Empower Me is Canada’s only energy conservation and education change program designed for and delivered by members of diverse, multilingual and hard-to-reach communities. The program has helped avoid more than 14,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions and created dozens of green living-wage jobs. It has reached more than 320,000 multilingual and multicultural community members.

Hosted in person and online, the 90-minute workshops cover topics such as energy conservation tips, home safety tips, how to read your energy bills and how to lower your energy bills. 

It is currently available in 16 languages including English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Punjabi, Farsi, Urdu, Hindi, Tagalog, Arabic, Spanish and Korean.
