Starting in 2023, annual dues collection for CREB^® and the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) will be separate from dues collection for the Alberta Real Estate Association (AREA).

CREB^® will continue to collect dues for CREB^® and CREA while AREA will begin collection of their dues directly from CREB^® members.

We anticipate that AREA will share more details with members near the end of 2022 about their payment process, payment amount, payment deadlines and payment options. In the meantime, please note there will be no other changes to the billing and collection process for CREB^® and CREA dues.

As a reminder, members will be invoiced for CREB^®’s annual dues ($603.45) at the beginning of January. This amount is due by noon on Tuesday, February 28, 2023. Members will then be invoiced for their CREA annual dues ($325.50) separately in February. This amount is due by noon on Friday, March 31, 2023.

Payment options for dues billed by CREB^®

There are several payment options, including:

• Auto-pay, the easiest way to ensure your dues are paid in full by the deadline using a credit card or chequing account.
• Through your My Account profile on CREB^®Link.
• Over the phone at 403-263-0530 or in-person at the Member Services Centre at CREB^®.

The cost of non-payment for dues billed by CREB^®

Non-payment affects your membership. If payment is not received on or before noon on Friday, March 31, 2023, a $50 fine will be levied and your board services will be suspended.

If your payment in full (including the $50 fine amount) is not received on or before noon on Monday, April 17, 2023, your board services will be terminated in accordance with your membership agreement.

For members who terminate and then rejoin the board, there is a $300 re-entry fee. It is important to note that each member is responsible for accessing their own statement and ensuring payments are made on time.

Please be aware if board services are suspended, it may take up to one full business day to reactivate your computer services.
