Correction to inconsistency in RECA's BGMS principles

By CREB®

As part of CREB®’s ongoing due diligence and review, we’ve identified an inconsistency with the principles approved by Council in the June 13 meeting minutes and what is listed on RECA’s website for Below Grade Measurement Standards (BGMS). This has now been corrected as of today.

For background, in the minutes, RECA notes the approval of a motion to adopt four principles as part of the BGMS recommendations.

However, on the Residential Measurement Standards (RMS) section of RECA’s website, under the heading “Improvements to the RMS beginning Jan. 1, 2024,” there were six principles listed until today

We encourage members to please revisit RECA’s website to see the correction, in the event you had already reviewed the website previously when it was showing six principles.

Our ongoing priority is to ensure CREB® members have clarity on all aspects of the recommended improvements to the RMS ahead of the effective date.

We will continue to monitor updates and relay any new information that comes our way on this topic.
