Earlier this year, the Real Estate Council of Alberta (RECA) announced changes to the Residential Measurement Standard (RMS) guidelines, including the introduction of a new Below Grade Measurement Standard (BGMS).

RECA has recently proposed a new licensing framework that separates the real estate license into five separate licenses: residential, commercial, agribusiness (rural), and a further division in property management between commercial and residential. 

Recently, RECA warned consumers about an individual trading in real estate and dealing in mortgages without a license, as well as operating an unlicensed brokerage.
