Earlier today, all members received two email notices of special meetings from CREB® and the CREB® Charitable Foundation.
With the release of our refreshed strategic plan, several initiatives have been launched to enable us to fulfill our strategic objective of enhancing, promoting and protecting the interests of our members.
Some of these changes require the approval of bylaw amendments, and the board wanted to get these in front of you as soon as possible. A Special General Meeting (SGM) has been called to approve these amendments.
Your vote on these amendments will impact how director qualifications are determined and whether public directors are integrated into the organization, and we’ve just added a third proposed amendment that includes gender-inclusive language in our bylaws. The details on this additional resolution are available here.
The gender-inclusive language amendment was already approved and adopted by the membership at the CIBS AGM this past spring. The CREB® Board of Directors and CREB® REALTOR® Community Foundation Board of Governors also hope to adopt this change.
These proposed bylaw amendments represent a significant step towards enhancing CREB®'s governance structure. These changes are designed to increase transparency, diversity, and representation within the organization's leadership and operations.
All CREB® members can fully participate in voting during the SGM. This event will be hosted in a hybrid format so that you can join in person or online. In-person and online attendees will vote on CREB®Link - the same voting tool used at our AGM.
