Deal yourself in: Last chance to volunteer for CREB®'s Casino Days!

CREB® Casino Days are next week and the CREB® REALTOR® Community Foundation needs your help! We are seeking volunteers for Tuesday, Aug. 20 and Wednesday, Aug. 21 to fill a variety of roles.

This is a great opportunity to help raise funds that support CREB® REALTOR® Community Foundation grant recipients each year. If you’re worried that you won’t know what to do, relax. There’ll always be a professional casino manager on hand to help. You’ll have the chance to connect with your fellow REALTORS®, enjoy a free meal and support your local Calgarians.

Volunteer details:

Date: Tuesday, Aug. 20 and Wednesday, Aug. 21
Location: Pure Casino Calgary
Shifts available: General managers and alternate general managers, bankers, chip runners, count room supervisors and count room staff – see below for shift descriptions

Shift times and availability:

Tuesday

  • 11 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. (GM, banker, cashier)
  • 7 p.m. to 3:45 a.m. (Two chip runners)
  • 11 p.m. to 3:45 a.m. (Six count room staff)

Wednesday

  • 11 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. (Cashier)
  • 7 p.m. to 3:45 a.m. (Banker, two cashiers, chip runner)
  • 11 p.m. to 3:45 a.m. (Five count room staff)

NOTE: Parking and a free meal will be included

To sign up for a volunteer shift or if you have questions, please email Sam Randhawa, Member Relations & Volunteer Engagement Advisor, at sam.randhawa@creb.ca and include your name, desired shift and contact information. 

Shift descriptions

General manager and alternate general manager

The general manager oversees the volunteers and ensures everything runs smoothly.

Banker

The banker supervises the cashiers and chips, doing things like double checking to make sure they pay out the right amount when chips are cashed in.  

Cashier

When casino patrons cash out their chips, you’ll count them up and pay them the right amount of cash.

Chip runner

When black jack, craps and other tables need more chips, you’re the one who gets them.

Count room supervisor

The count room supervisors double check to make sure the money being counted balances after each count.

Count room staff

You’ll be counting money (using counting machines) to see how much we took in.
