Deal yourself in: Volunteer for CREB®'s Casino Days!

The CREB® REALTOR® Community Foundation needs your help! We are seeking volunteers to help at the upcoming CREB® Casino Days on Tuesday, Aug. 20 and Wednesday, Aug. 21.

This is a great opportunity to get out and meet your fellow REALTORS® and help raise funds that support CREB® REALTOR® Community Foundation grant recipients each year. Over the years, the funds raised from Casino Days have supported projects at Ronald McDonald House Charities, Inn from the Cold, Calgary Drop-In Centre, Discovery House and many more local charities.

Volunteer details:

Date: Tuesday, Aug. 20 to Wednesday, Aug. 21
Location: Pure Casino Calgary
Shifts available: General Manager and Alternate General Manager, Bankers, Chip Runners, Count Room Supervisor and Count Room Staff – see below for shift descriptions
Shift times:

  • 11 am to 7:15 p.m. (GM, Banker, two Cashiers, two Chip Runners)
  • 7 pm to 3:45 a.m. (GM, Banker, two Cashiers, two Chip Runners)
  • 11 pm to 3:45 a.m. (Count Room Supervisor, five Count Room Staff)

NOTE: Parking and a free meal will be included

Shift descriptions

General manager and alternate general manager

The general manager is responsible for all aspects of the casino and operates the event in consultation with the games manager to ensure the casino is conducted in accordance with the CTCOG. 20.2

Banker

The banker supervises the cash cage and is directly accountable to the general manager. The banker is responsible for securing and controlling the chip/cash inventory during their shift. 

Chip runner

Using CasinoTrack, the chip runner acts as an intermediary between the charity and the casino facility. This includes verifying the accuracy of chips while accepting, opening, closing or returning game tables on the floor and ensuring chips are accurately transported to and from the chip bank and game tables.

Count room supervisor

The count room supervisor is directly accountable to the general manager for supervising count room procedures and count room staff and ensuring the count room is secured while on duty.  At the end of the count, the count room supervisor will generate the Master Revenue Report and Count Room Drop Box Verification on CasinoTrack.  

Counter

The counter is responsible for counting the contents of each individual box identified by the “Box ID Card,” reporting the totals to the recorders, and providing the bills to the amalgamator for final verification.
