Give back to your community and support women in need by volunteering at Discovery House on Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 1 p.m.

At the start of the event, volunteers will be given a tour of the shelter, and from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., volunteers will tackle different tasks such as building IKEA furniture or painting a unit.

These are the available activities:

• Build small IKEA furniture – four volunteers needed
• Paint a unit – two to four volunteers needed
• Bring in boxes of PPE from loading dock to second floor storage room – two volunteers needed
• Organize and refill PPE cabinet – one to two volunteers needed
• Organize suite storage – two volunteers needed

For over 40 years, Discovery House Family Violence Prevention Society has served women and children fleeing domestic violence, helping them rebuild their lives.
